Reflection and Goodbyes

I know I usually post about my journey to thin, but I just wanted to take a moment to break the norm and post a reflection on my blog as a remembrance for my grandmother. The call came on Friday morning from my dad. We all knew it was coming and I thought I was prepared for it, but the realization of knowing she was gone cut straight through my heart. Her two daughters were there (my aunts) and dad had recently come back last week from visiting her and letting her know it was alright for her to go. She basically had been in a coma since my dad had left England to return home this past Tuesday. I'm sad for my dad - having just lost his mother ( I can't begin to think about what that pain must feel like), sad for my wife - she will never get to meet my grandmother and listen to her stories, and sad for me - it has been so long since I have visited her and I missed her so. So as we begin to pick up the pieces and move on with our daily lives I just wanted to take a moment to pause and say I love you grandma! I'll see you one day in heaven. Finally, she is in peace and reunited with grandpa. Love you both and miss you both. Cheerio!
