New Year - New US!

So I've spent a lot of time thinking over the past few days about what I want to accomplish in 2011. I have learned while on this journey that this is a marathon and not a sprint. It will take time to accomplish my goals and it is not going to happen overnight. I am in this for the long haul so sit down, strap in, and get ready for the journey of a lifetime!

I have decided to not set any resolutions for 2011. The word resolution has many different meanings including - a resolve or determination. By setting resolutions you state that you are determining to do something in the new year. Unless your mindset is resolute (determined) to stick with the resolutions made then you will not do it.

This year I am going to set goals for myself instead of making resolutions. So, here are my goals for 2011:

  1. To get a better handle on the PointsPlus program and make sure that I am getting in my necessary healthy guidelines each day.
  2. To drink at least 100 oz of water a day.
  3. To exercise at least 5 times a week.
  4. To complete 1 5K a month.
  5. To grow in my walk with God.
  6. To fall madly in love with my wife all over again.
  7. To foster and build relationships with my friends.
  8. To take time for me.
I know that some of you may be thinking - wow that's a long list of goals for 2011, but they are all doable. I'll keep you updated along the way and I expect all of you that read my blog to ask me along the way how things are going and check in with me on my goals.

Welcome to a whole new me and a whole better life!
