A Week Later!

Well it's been a week (see last Thursday's post) since I posted on finding my joy and I thought I would update you all on how things are going.

First of all to all of you who like to text me, email me, post comments, etc... KEEP THEM COMING! It's great and it makes me smile (even LOL somtimes).

So, Lisa asks me if I smiled today in the evenings if I don't say anything to her and that sometimes makes me smile. We watched a few minutes of stupid TV last night and that made me smile and yesterday a friend of mine sent me the People of Walmart Song and even though it was very wrong and it shouldn't have been funny - it made me LOL!

Also - yesterday my boss and I kept using IM to annoy everyone in the office when it was quiet - we use AOL IM here at work and I have mine set up with laser blaster sounds so whenever I send or receive an IM you hear two different laser blasts so we just kept sending random words back and forth so that you would hear laser blasts every few seconds - this lasted until we both cracked up laughing and were asked to stop.

Is it still a struggle - sure, but Rome wasn't built in a day. Actually - the city of Rome was founded roughly in 753 BC (if you go by ancient Roman calendars - even though they can be a bit unreliable) Since that time, the city has been added to and improved upon during its lifespan (especially since then it probably began as wood and straw houses). Even after the Western Roman Empire fell, it was still the center of Italian civilization and it was one of the leading cities during the Renaissance as it experienced huge reconstructions due to Papal orders.

Those of you that know me really, really well - probably just shook your head and SMILED because you know that "random trivial crap" like that comes out of my mouth from time to time. Usually though it centers around sports or science, but every once in a while I like to surprise everyone with a little bit of history.

I have no idea how much I weigh right now - and I'm OK with that. I feel great (except for my sprained ankle) and so far have gone to the gym 4 times this week (both cardio and weights each day) and the week is not done yet!

So I leave you with this final thought - I know it's a process some might even say a marathon instead of a sprint so I'll just take it one step at a time (ok - maybe two or three)

A few thoughts:

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. - Dr Seuss

and finally - Live well, Laugh often, Love much

  1. MC! Hi, followed you over from Capturing Beauty...I noted that you're a John Eldridge fan (Wild at Heart) and wanted to share with you that he's coming to Dallas on October 26th. I've been listening to his podcasts about his new book Beautiful Outlaw and really enjoying them. http://updates.ransomedheart.com/beautifuloutlaw_trailer
